Transition to secondary school

We understand that the move from primary to secondary school is a significant moment in your child’s academic journey so our Transition Programme is designed to ensure it is as smooth and exciting as possible. Full details and dates will be shared with parents and carers after you have received an offer for a place in Year 7.

The Parents area of our website also contains a wealth of useful information about school life including term dates, and our New Parent Handbook.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if we can assist you in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact our Admissions Team on admissions@paddington-academy.org.

Key Transition Events

Year 6 Interviews

All students and families will be invited to transition interviews when you and your child will have the opportunity to meet a member of the Key Stage 3 or Senior Leadership Team.

Year 6 Transition Day

Every year, we run a Transition Day at the start of July which gives new students a chance to see what life is like here, get used to the school building and to meet their classmates and the staff at Paddington. Full details and dates will be sent out in the spring by our Admissions Team, the day usually starts at 9.00am and finishes at 12.30pm.

You're bound to have lots of questions, and many parents/carers have similar queries, so we have compiled a helpful list of FAQs for parents of children joining us in Year 7. Please click on the link below:
