Duke of Edinburgh's Award

“There is more in you than you might think.”*

*HRH Prince Philip, founder of DofE

Whatever their ability, interest or background, DofE offers young people the chance to strive for achievement, overcome obstacles, and set their minds to a personal challenge. Because when you prove to yourself that you’re ready for anything, nothing can hold you back.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award?

DofE is open to any young person aged 14-24. Each young person builds their own DofE programmes – picking their own activities and choosing which cause to volunteer for – in order to achieve a Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE Award. Whether you’re into scaling climbing walls, coding the next big app, spinning tunes as a DJ, dancing, or caring for animals at a shelter. You can develop hobbies you already love or dive into something completely fresh. And along the way?

You’ll have a blast with friends, get fitter, master new skills, and make a real difference in your community – all while gearing up for an epic expedition.
